A prebiotic from milk sugar, often paired with FOS.

What it is

Galacto-oligosaccharides: short chains of galactose made from lactose (milk sugar). Like FOS, the animal does not digest them but its gut bacteria do.

What it does

It feeds beneficial gut bacteria at low inclusion. Used with FOS, it broadens the range of bacteria a prebiotic supports.

Where it’s used

  • Dry food: in the kibble or applied in the coating.

  • Wet food: soluble prebiotic in cans and pouches.

  • Treats: digestive-health treats.

  • Supplements: gut-health chews and powders, puppy and kitten products.

  • Livestock feed: gut-health additive in young-animal diets and milk replacers.
